An ALIENTELLIGENCE Venture · Venture Startup Builder Studio

We only build
on the curve.

Imne Labs is a venture startup builder studio with a single thesis: exponential technologies, built into exponential organizations. If a technology isn't doubling and the company around it isn't structured to compound, we don't build it.

The problem

Technology went exponential. Organizations didn't.

Compute, models, sequencing, sensing, robotics — all doubling on predictable curves. Meanwhile the default company is still built to grow linearly: hire more people, ship more slowly, defend more ground. That gap is the single largest arbitrage in venture today, and closing it is the entire reason Im[AGI]ne Labs exists.

THESIS 01 / TECHNOLOGY

Exponential Technologies

We build only where performance per dollar is on a doubling curve — artificial and agentic intelligence, quantum computation, robotics and autonomy, synthetic biology, neurotechnology, sensing networks, advanced energy and materials. Curves are forecastable. That is what makes them investable.

The 6 Ds
THESIS 02 / ORGANIZATION

Exponential Organizations

An exponential technology inside a linear company produces a linear outcome. So every venture we build is architected as an ExO from inception: a Massive Transformative Purpose, assets leveraged rather than owned, algorithms and agents at the core, and a community that scales without payroll.

The 11 attributes

The scarce resource was never the technology. It was an organization capable of absorbing it.

Im[AGI]ne Labs — operating principle 01
How the studio works

A builder, not a bank.

We don't wait for decks. We identify a curve, write the thesis, recruit the operator who knows the domain cold, and build the company alongside them — with a Kai-orchestrated agentic team doing real work from the first week.

01

Detect

Continuous scanning of technology cost and capability curves to find the ones approaching the knee.

02

Thesis

A written, falsifiable thesis: what doubles, why now, who it dematerializes, and what the ExO shape must be.

03

Build

Co-founded with a domain operator. Agentic infrastructure, MTP and ExO attributes wired in from day zero.

04

Compound

Scale on leverage rather than headcount, then spin the venture out with its own capital and cap table.

Bring us a curve.

If you're a domain operator staring at a technology that is halving in cost and doubling in capability, you're the co-founder we're looking for.

Thesis 01 / Technology

Exponential
Technologies

A technology is exponential when its performance per dollar reliably doubles over a fixed period. That single property changes everything about how a company built on it should be financed, staffed and structured — because the future stops being a guess and becomes a schedule.

Where we build

Eight curves we track.

We are domain-agnostic and curve-specific. If a field's cost curve is flat, it is out of mandate no matter how large the market.

CURVE 01

Artificial & Agentic Intelligence

Models, reasoning systems and autonomous agents — capability per dollar collapsing faster than any curve in history.

CURVE 02

Quantum Computation

Coherent qubits and error correction advancing toward problem classes classical machines cannot reach.

CURVE 03

Robotics & Autonomy

Actuators, sensors and embodied policy models converging on general-purpose physical labor.

CURVE 04

Synthetic Biology

Reading, writing and editing genomes — sequencing and synthesis costs falling faster than Moore's law.

CURVE 05

Neurotechnology

Interfaces between computation and living neural tissue, including cultured-neuron substrates.

CURVE 06

Sensing & Networks

Ubiquitous, near-free instrumentation of the physical world, and the bandwidth to move what it captures.

CURVE 07

Energy & Storage

Generation and storage costs on multi-decade declines, redrawing the economics of everything downstream.

CURVE 08

Advanced Materials

Computationally designed materials and additive manufacturing turning atoms into a programmable stack.

The pattern

The 6 Ds of exponential disruption.

Every exponential technology walks the same six steps. We map each venture against them explicitly — because knowing which D an industry currently sits in tells you exactly when to build.

D1

Digitized

Once something becomes information, it inherits the doubling curve of computation. This is the entry condition for everything that follows.

D2

Deceptive

Early doublings are tiny in absolute terms, so incumbents dismiss them. This is the quiet window — and the cheapest moment to build.

D3

Disruptive

The curve crosses the incumbent's economics. The new approach is not marginally better; it is categorically cheaper and faster.

D4

Dematerialized

Dedicated hardware and physical intermediaries dissolve into software and agents. Whole layers of the value chain vanish.

D5

Demonetized

Marginal cost approaches zero. Revenue models built on scarcity break, and the value migrates to orchestration and trust.

D6

Democratized

Capability once restricted to institutions reaches everyone. The largest markets in history open in a matter of years.

The 6 Ds framework was articulated by Peter Diamandis and Steven Kotler. We apply it as an operating instrument, not as a claim of authorship.

Why most of it fails

Exponential tech, linear company.

THE DEFAULT PATH

Linear by construction

Growth requires proportional hiring. Assets are owned and depreciate. Decisions route through a hierarchy. Data is collected but not acted on autonomously. Strategy is an annual document.

Outcome: a genuinely exponential technology delivering a linear return, out-competed by whoever restructures first.

THE STUDIO PATH

Exponential by design

Growth is absorbed by algorithms, agents and community. Assets are accessed, not owned. Autonomy is pushed to the edge. Every interaction feeds a learning loop. Strategy re-plans continuously.

Outcome: output scales on a curve while cost base stays flat — the only structure that can actually ride a doubling.

Thesis 02 / Organization

Exponential
Organizations

An Exponential Organization produces output radically disproportionate to its size and cost base — because it is built on leverage rather than labor. This is not a culture programme we bolt on later. It is the architecture we incorporate on day one, and it is non-negotiable for every venture in the portfolio.

The prerequisite

It starts with an MTP.

A Massive Transformative Purpose is the aspiration that makes everything else cohere: large enough that no single company could plausibly complete it, specific enough that a stranger can tell whether you're making progress.

The MTP is what lets an ExO recruit a community it doesn't employ, attract talent it doesn't manage, and make thousands of decentralized decisions without a meeting. A venture without one has no gravity — and no amount of agentic infrastructure substitutes for it.

mtp ▸ validation

External attributes

S.C.A.L.E. — leverage outside the walls.

Five mechanisms for growing output without growing the organization.

S

Staff on Demand

Keep a small permanent core and reach for specialist capability — human and agentic — exactly when the work demands it. Permanent headcount is the slowest asset a young company can own.

C

Community & Crowd

Concentric rings of people who care about the MTP: core contributors, active community, broader crowd. They validate, distribute, build and fund — long before payroll could.

A

Algorithms

The product's core logic lives in models and code, not in institutional knowledge. Algorithms scale without fatigue, improve with data, and can be audited and rolled back.

L

Leveraged Assets

Rent compute, capacity, distribution and facilities rather than owning them. Capital stays deployed against the curve instead of frozen in depreciating hardware.

E

Engagement

Reputation systems, incentive design, gamified feedback and transparent progress — the loops that convert attention into contribution and contribution into growth.

Internal attributes

I.D.E.A.S. — control without friction.

Five mechanisms that let a small core stay coherent while moving at exponential speed.

I

Interfaces

The filtering and matching layer between external abundance and internal process. Interfaces are what make staff on demand and crowd contribution usable rather than chaotic.

D

Dashboards

Real-time, company-wide visibility into the handful of metrics that actually move the MTP — available to everyone, not filtered upward in a monthly pack.

E

Experimentation

Continuous, cheap, reversible tests as the default way decisions get made. Assumption risk is retired by evidence rather than by seniority.

A

Autonomy

Self-organizing teams — and autonomous agents — with real decision rights inside clear constraints. Approval queues are where exponential speed goes to die.

S

Social Technologies

Shared context, transparent communication and collaborative tooling that keep a distributed, partly-agentic organization aligned without synchronous overhead.

The ExO framework — MTP, SCALE and IDEAS — was developed by Salim Ismail and collaborators in Exponential Organizations. Im[AGI]ne Labs applies it as an established operating standard; we claim the implementation, not the framework.

A linear company hires to grow. An exponential one designs so it doesn't have to.

We are a venture startup builder studio, which means we originate companies rather than screen them. The thesis comes first, the operator comes second, and the agentic infrastructure is running before the entity is even incorporated.

Stage by stage

From signal to spin-out.

Stage 00 · Signal

Find the curve before the knee

We continuously track cost and capability curves across the eight domains in our mandate, watching for the deceptive phase — where doublings are real but still small enough that incumbents aren't paying attention. Nothing enters the studio without a measurable curve behind it.

Stage 01 · Thesis

Write it down, make it falsifiable

Every venture starts as a written thesis: what doubles and how fast, which of the 6 Ds the target industry occupies, who gets dematerialized, what has to be true for this to work, and what would prove us wrong. If we can't state the kill criteria, we don't build.

Stage 02 · Purpose

Set the MTP and the ExO shape

Before hiring anyone we define the Massive Transformative Purpose and design the organizational architecture around it — which attributes carry the load, where leverage substitutes for labor, and which functions are agentic from the outset rather than automated later.

Stage 03 · Co-founder

Recruit the operator who knows the domain cold

Thesis without domain truth is a slide. We partner with a founding operator who has lived the problem, and we come in as the co-founder handling company architecture, agentic infrastructure, capital and the exponential playbook — meaningful equity, real shared risk.

Stage 04 · Build

Ship with an agentic team from day zero

The venture launches with Kai-orchestrated agents already doing production work — research, outreach, operations, support, analysis — alongside a deliberately small human core. The first hire is a decision, never a default.

Stage 05 · Compound

Scale on leverage, not payroll

Growth is absorbed by algorithms, community and on-demand capability. We instrument the handful of metrics that move the MTP, run continuous experiments against them, and keep the cost base flat while output climbs the curve.

Stage 06 · Spin-out

Independence with the ecosystem behind it

Once the venture is compounding on its own, it graduates: its own cap table, its own capital, its own leadership — with continued access to Kai and the wider ALIENTELLIGENCE ecosystem as infrastructure rather than as a parent.

What a founding operator gets

Co-founder, not cap-table tourist.

01

Company architecture

The ExO design work done with you — MTP, attribute map, org shape, and the leverage model that keeps the cost base flat as output scales.

02

Agentic infrastructure

A Kai-orchestrated agent team wired into real workflows from week one, plus the engineering to keep extending it as the venture grows.

03

Capital at inception

Studio capital to get from thesis to evidence, and support through the venture's first external round when the curve justifies it.

04

The exponential playbook

The 6 Ds mapping, curve forecasting, experiment design and instrumentation we apply across every venture in the portfolio.

05

Ecosystem leverage

Access to the ALIENTELLIGENCE stack and its sibling ventures — intelligence, agents and infrastructure you would otherwise rebuild.

06

Aligned equity

Real founder ownership and real shared downside. We build with you, and our return depends on the same curve yours does.

Three ways in. All of them start the same way: a curve, a purpose, and a willingness to build something that isn't shaped like a normal company.

Track 01

Founding Operators

You know a domain cold and you can see a technology halving in cost underneath it. We co-found with you — architecture, agents, capital and the exponential playbook.

  • Deep, lived domain expertise
  • A curve you can point at, not a trend
  • Willing to build as an ExO from day zero
  • Real equity, real shared downside
Track 02

Corporates & Incumbents

You're sitting in an industry entering D3 and you'd rather build the disruptor than absorb it. We spin up exponential ventures alongside you, outside the constraints of the core business.

  • Independent venture, ExO-native structure
  • Access to Kai and agentic infrastructure
  • Thesis written against your industry's curve
  • Built to compete, not to be a lab project
Track 03

Investors & LPs

Exposure to a studio that underwrites only doubling curves and only builds organizations structured to ride them — with the ALIENTELLIGENCE stack as a durable advantage.

  • Studio-originated, thesis-first origination
  • Agentic operating leverage across the portfolio
  • Written kill criteria on every venture
  • Ecosystem infrastructure, not rebuilt per company
